Businesses post shifts, set their own pay rate, and review applicant profiles before hiring. Workers carry insurance during shifts.

Their distinctive choice: workers pay GigSmart $1 per hour worked out of their earnings (TMS Outsource, February 2026). At 40 hours a week, that's $40/week off a worker's paycheck. Most competitors charge nothing to workers.

The structural wall
