How reviews work on ShiftSee

Mutual ratings after every shift, how they aggregate, and what you can do about an unfair one.

After every completed shift, both sides have 7 days to leave a 1-5 star rating and an optional comment.

What gets rated

  • Shifter rates the business: how clear were instructions, was the workplace safe and welcoming, did pay arrive on time.
  • Business rates the shifter: did they show up on time, did they do the work well, would you book them again.

Either side can leave a review without the other; we don't require mutuality.

How ratings aggregate

Your public profile shows the average of your last 90 days plus a count of total reviews. We trust the recent window over the lifetime average so growth or improvement is visible quickly.

I got an unfair review

  1. Open the review (visible to you in Reviews → Received).
  2. Click Dispute.
  3. Explain what was unfair (off-platform retaliation, inaccurate facts, abusive language).
  4. A teammate from ShiftSee Support reviews. We can hide reviews that violate our community guidelines, but we don't remove honest negative feedback.

Reviews are not anonymous

Both sides see who wrote which review. This is intentional: it keeps reviews honest and reduces drive-by attacks.

Tone guidance

Concrete > vague. "Showed up 15 minutes late" is more useful than "unprofessional." Same for businesses: "The brunch shift was understaffed and we got slammed at 11" is more useful than "didn't go great."
