Adding a teammate to your business

Invite a GM, scheduler, or accountant to your business with the right level of access.

Edit Business → Teammates is where you manage who else can act on behalf of your business.

Adding someone

  1. Click Add teammate.
  2. Enter their email. If they have a ShiftSee account, they're auto-attached. If not, they get a magic-link invitation.
  3. Pick their role:
    • Owner — every permission, including transferring or deleting the business.
    • Admin — every permission except changing ownership.
    • Scheduler — post and manage shifts, accept connections, view reports. Cannot touch payment methods or billing.
    • Read-only — view everything, change nothing. Useful for accountants or investors.
  4. Save.

Multiple owners

A business can have multiple owners. Add a second owner if you want a partner who can do everything you can — including delete the business. Co-owner relationships should be set up with clear understanding; the platform doesn't arbitrate disputes between co-owners.

Removing a teammate

Same screen, click the row, Remove teammate. They lose access immediately. Past shifts they posted or actions they took stay attributed to them.

What teammates see in the messaging center

A teammate replying to a customer (a shifter) message shows up as the business name with their name on a sub-line: "Pat from Joe's Cafe". So the customer always knows which human wrote which message.

Self-as-business and the Owner role

Your default self-as-business is owned by you with the Owner role; you can't be removed from it. You can add other teammates to your default business if it makes sense (e.g., your assistant manages your personal-shifter calendar).
