Open the shift detail (from your Schedule tab) and click Cancel shift. Confirm. The other side is notified immediately.
Reasonable notice
We define reasonable as more than 4 hours before the scheduled start. Cancel earlier than that and the impact on your reliability score is small. Cancel within 4 hours, and the score takes a bigger hit.
Reliability score: what it is
A 0-100 number on every shifter and every business profile. Calculated from:
- Last 90 days of shifts
- Cancellations weighted by lateness (last-minute hurts more)
- No-shows weighted heavily
- Late completions weighted lightly
Connected partners can see your reliability score on your public profile. New connections see it as a soft signal of "is this person dependable."
What you can do to mitigate
- Send a brief Messages note when you cancel: "Sorry, family emergency, will pick up an extra shift to make up for it." Goodwill matters and the message lives in your shared thread.
- Don't repeat-cancel the same partner. The platform notices patterns.
When you should absolutely cancel
- Illness, especially anything contagious.
- Genuine emergency.
- Safety concern.
We'd rather you cancel than show up sick or unsafe.
