When a business sends you a shift, you'll see it in your Shift Requests tab and get a push notification. You have three responses available.
1. Accept
The shift moves to your Schedule. Both you and the business are committed. You can still cancel up until the shift starts (with reasonable notice), but it'll affect your reliability score.
2. Decline
Polite no, no negotiation. The business is notified and can offer the shift to someone else.
3. Propose changes (counter-offer)
ShiftSee's superpower. If the rate is low, the time doesn't work, or you want a different role: tap Propose changes and adjust whatever doesn't fit. The business sees your counter-offer and can accept it (which auto-creates the shift at your terms), counter back, or decline.
A negotiation can go back and forth a few times. The history of every counter is visible to both sides via the History drawer on the shift detail.
Reading the shift detail
Every shift request shows:
- Date and time
- Hourly rate
- Currency
- Role (if specified)
- Whether the shift is flexible (allows early start or late end)
- Optional details from the business
If anything is unclear, message the business via the conversation thread. Connected shifters and businesses always have a thread available.
