Connections are the foundation of ShiftSee. A business can only send you a shift request if you and they are connected.
Two ways to connect
1. The QR scan (in person). When you're in the business already (interviewing, dropping off a resume, working a one-off), ask them to scan your QR code. You'll find your QR by tapping the QR icon in the bottom-right of your shifter profile, or on the public version of your profile at /s/<your-slug>. Scanning auto-creates a connection request that you can both confirm in seconds.
2. Send a connection request from their profile. Visit any business's public page (browse via Browse Businesses) and tap Connect. Fill in why you'd like to work there and what role you're best at. The business gets the request in their dashboard and either accepts or declines.
What "connected" means
Once a business accepts your connection request:
- They can send you targeted shift requests
- You'll receive their broadcast shifts (if they post any)
- You can see them in your Connected Businesses list
- You can DM each other through the Messaging center
What if I'm not connected yet?
You can still apply to work specific shifts. Some businesses post broadcast shifts that anyone with a shifter profile can claim. Look for Open Shifts in your shifter dashboard.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect at any time from your Connected Businesses page. Disconnecting is silent (no notification to the business). Past shifts and payment history are preserved.
