How to delete your ShiftSee account

Soft delete vs. hard delete and what happens to your data.

Account deletion is a two-step process: a soft delete you can reverse, then a hard delete after 30 days.

To delete

  1. User Settings → Account → Delete account.
  2. Confirm. Your account is soft-deleted: you're signed out, your profiles disappear from the public directory and search, and connected partners can't message you.
  3. For 30 days, you can email security@shiftsee.com to restore the account. After that, the data is purged.

What's actually deleted at hard delete

  • Profile fields, photo, contact info.
  • Messages you sent (replaced with [deleted user] placeholders in shared threads).
  • Tags, role preferences, availability.

What's preserved (and why)

  • Past shift records — for accounting and tax compliance.
  • Payment invoices — likewise.
  • Aggregate ratings — preserved on connected partner profiles, but anonymized.

What about the businesses I created?

You're prompted to either transfer ownership to another teammate or co-delete the businesses you own. Connected shifters at those businesses are notified.

What about my Stripe account?

ShiftSee disconnects from your Stripe account at hard delete. Your Stripe account itself remains under your control via Stripe directly; you can close it through them when you're ready.
