How ShiftSee fees work for businesses

A clear breakdown of what you pay on top of shift base pay.

On every shift you pay three things:

  1. Base pay — the agreed hourly rate × hours worked. Goes to the shifter.
  2. ShiftSee platform fee (your side) — 10% of base pay. Goes to ShiftSee.
  3. Stripe processing fee — Stripe's standard processing rate, typically 2.9% + $0.30 in the US, varies by region. Goes to Stripe.

The shifter also pays a 10% platform fee on their side (deducted from base pay). So ShiftSee earns 20% total per shift, split equally so both sides see a transparent fee.

Worked example: $10/hr × 10 hours = $100 base

  • Business charged: $100 (base) + $10 (10% platform fee) + $3.20 (Stripe ≈ 2.9% + $0.30) = $113.20
  • Shifter receives: $100 - $10 (10% platform fee) = $90, then minus a small Stripe payout fee (often $0.50-$2 depending on country/account) = $88-89.50
  • ShiftSee earns: $10 + $10 = $20
  • Stripe earns: ~$3.70-$5.20 total

Where to see fees on every shift

Every paid shift generates an invoice in Payments → Payment History. The invoice itemizes base pay, platform fee, Stripe fee, and total charged.
