The short answer: most payouts arrive 3-5 business days after the shift is marked complete.
The full timeline
- Shift ends. You and the business both confirm it. The business marks the shift complete in their dashboard.
- Charge fires. ShiftSee charges the business's card the same day. Your portion (shift pay minus the 10% platform fee) is booked toward your Stripe account.
- Stripe holding period. Stripe holds funds briefly to allow for disputes. Typically 1-2 business days for most regions.
- Payout transfer. Stripe transfers the cleared funds to your linked bank or debit card.
- Bank settlement. Your bank takes 1-3 business days to reflect the deposit, depending on country and bank.
Why does it sometimes take longer?
- The business hasn't marked the shift complete yet. Nudge them via Messaging.
- Your Stripe Connect account isn't fully verified (some country/region combos need extra ID).
- A weekend or holiday falls in the middle.
- A dispute is open on the shift (rare; we'll email you if so).
Where to track it
Go to Payments → Payment History in your shifter dashboard. Each row shows shift date, amount earned, fees, net payout, and the current status (pending / cleared / paid out).
